Biography

  • Jason Sternhagen is the Metzger Educator in Power System Engineering at South Dakota State University. He earned his Master of Science in electrical engineering from SDSU and contributes to both classroom instruction and hands-on student learning within the McComish Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
  • His academic interests include renewable energy systems, photovoltaic devices and microelectronic fabrication. Sternhagen teaches courses covering electronic materials, electrical engineering fundamentals and electronic devices.
  • Beyond the classroom, Sternhagen serves as faculty adviser for the SDSU Robotics Club and the Sigma Phi Delta engineering fraternity. He has also been recognized with an Excellence in Service Award for his contributions to the design and completion of the cleanroom facilities in Daktronics Engineering Hall.
